Primary School Sport Premium

The Government is providing Primary Schools with ring-fenced funding for the academic years until 2020, to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport in their schools.

For the 2018-19 academic year, schools with 17 or more pupils will receive £16,000 and an additional payment of £10 per pupil. Schools  with 16 or fewer eligible pupils receive £1,000 per pupil. Please see further information, including School level breakdown of funding and revised criteria on how the funding can be allocated, here

To take account of the funding criteria changes, an updated website reporting tool for schools has been produced. Find out more here

Get Berkshire Active Primary Schools Physical Activity Conference – Maximising your Primary PE and School Sport Premium

On April 18th Get Berkshire Active held its first ever primary schools, Maximising your Primary PE and School Sport Premium. The conference gave delegates from across the county the opportunity to listen to national experts in the field with key notes delivered by Dr William Bird Founder of Intelligent Health, Sue Wilkinson CEO of the Association for Physical Education and Berkshire Headteacher Derek Peaple. As well as the keynotes, delegates had plenty of opportunity to network, meet with providers and suppliers and take part in a range of workshops.

In the region of 100 Headteachers, PE Leads and governors attended the conference and planning is already underway for next year's event which will take place on April 26th 2019.
