Your role in our journey
As Active Travel Coordinator, you will provide the development and delivery of walking groups as well as support to other active travel projects across the Sport and Recreation Team. You will work in close partnership with colleagues from across the council as well as a host of statutory, community and volunteers to develop an outstanding walking programme. As an Active Travel Coordinator, you will take a lead role setting up new groups, deliver walk leader training and will have some supervisory responsibilities for team members and volunteers.
What you'll need
To join us, you'll need a mix of relevant qualifications with at least one of your qualifications being at level 4 or above, and have good experience in the sport and physical activity sector. Your track record includes involvement in the delivery of walking and/or active travel activities as well as the development of programmes to meet the needs of target audiences. You will have an excellent knowledge of walking and physical activity and be able to make the case for the potential impact that walking can have in raising physical activity levels.
