Day in the Life of our Employability Lead

Our Employability Programme Lead, Ryan Gordon, gives you an insight into how our physical activity delivery helps build skills and encourage confidence.
"We started the day off by visiting Bracknell job centre, giving the work coaches and employment advisors a taste of what we do on our programmes. 24 JCP staff got the chance to play some fun games and take part in the experiential and unique way we encourage soft skills, such as communication, problem solving and other transferable skills. Everyone had a great time with the Job Centre wanting us to come back in for an extended session of team building for all their team.
The afternoon saw us delivering a session to our current cohort in Reading. We went along to Parthian Climbing Centre with the group. This particular session is designed to get the individuals thinking about pushing themselves and stepping outside of their comfort zone by providing a challenge and showing them they can accomplish it! And that they did. Climbing up 20ft walls and having a chance to do some bouldering put a smile on everyone's face, which turned out to be a great confidence boost for everyone attending!"
