Sports Parents Promise

The Promise outlines what makes a great sports parent. We're asking parents to sign up and make the promise to their child by the end of Parents in Sport Week 2019.

Making this promise allows parents to acknowledge the contribution they make to their child's enjoyment of sport, and allows clubs, coaches and other sports organisations to really get parents on board and take an interest in their child's sporting life.

The promise is supported by important and helpful information parents need to help keep their child safe in sport and support them in the best way they can.

Make the Sports Parents Promise

As a positive sports parent, I make these promises to my child(ren):

I promise to make sure the club we choose together is safe and fun

I promise to listen to you if you have any concerns about your sport

I promise to make sure that I always support you and your teammates in a positive way

Make it official! Add your name to be counted using the form below.

You'll also get a certificate to print out and put on the fridge or share on social media with other #SportsParents. You can type your child's name directly on to the PDF or fill it in by hand afterwards – whichever you prefer.

If you're a sports parent, take a look at our information for parents.

If you're a coach, club or sports organisation, take a look at our guidance on working with parents in sport.
