Thanks to its coaching and communications, Bracknell Gymnastics Club more than doubled its membership to 389, despite the pandemic. Most of this growth was due to exciting new recreational programmes that catered for toddlers, primary & secondary aged children, and parkour enthusiasts.
The programmes included live classes via Zoom, pre-recorded material, fitness challenges, outdoor fitness classes, and secure facebook groups. 25 gymnasts were registered as 'elite' by British Gymnastics. Performance training was organised at an alternative, covid-safe, facility. Extra volunteer effort supported the gymnasts including required sanitising of contact points and equipment. This helped them prepare for an international championship in Copenhagen in 2021.
