All are skilled and challenging and require physical strength, agility and co-ordination. Under the overall description of gymnastics lie the individual disciplines and activities of:

  • Men's artistic Gymnastics (includes high bar, parallel bars, rings, floor, vault and pommel horse)
  • Women's Artistic gymnastics (includes uneven bars, beam, floor and vault)
  • Rhythmic Gymnastics
  • Trampoline and Tumbling Gymnastics

British Gymnastics provides a national directive and structure for the sport; delivering a range of opportunities across the age spectrum to take part and stay in gymnastics, as well as developing talent and delivering top-level success.

Gymnastics is an accessible and inclusive sport offering opportunities to all ability levels and ethnic groups within a range of controlled learning environments.
