GBA Awards

The Get Berkshire Active Awards celebrate sport and physical activity achievements in Berkshire over the last year. The awards go not only to people who have excelled in sporting achievement over the previous year, but more importantly to people who have made sport possible for others.

This could include coaches, volunteers, employers, teachers/schools or any other organisation that makes sport and physical activity accessible and enjoyable.

The 9th Get Berkshire Active Awards

Watch this space for the latest updates on the 9th GBA Awards.

Instead of the traditional 12 different award categories this year it will be just one award category – 'The Berkshire physical activity lockdown hero'.

We are delighted to receive more than 70 nominations for the 9th GBA Awards this year. The judging panel took place on 5th of January and recognised 29 organisations and individuals whose contribution truly made a difference during the pandemic. These were based on your nomination applications – thanks for the time taken to do this!

The ongoing pandemic has changed the usual format of the GBA Awards this year. Instead of the Gala Dinner with around 300 guests including VIPs, this year we will celebrate and recognise these fantastic contributions across our online platforms including our GBA website, social media platforms and via BBC Radio Berkshire (TBC) during February 2021.

Support your nominees and the Berkshire Lockdown Physical Activity Heroes to help us recognise their contribution to a more active and healthy Berkshire in this challenging time. Watch the #9thGBAAwards during February 2021 on our social media channels:
