About Inclusion & Diversity Manager

At Chance to Shine, we know the power that sport has and we want to deliver inspirational and enjoyable moments to every child and young person that will stay with them for a lifetime. Reaching half a million children and young people every year is something we are very proud of, however, we know there is much more we need to do to achieve our mission. In particular, ensuring our programmes – in particular Street - recognise inequalities and provide access irrespective of location will be a key driver to extend and enhance our appeal.

In this newly created role, you will be responsible for the national roll-out of our Street programme funded largely by Sport England, taking cricket and its wider benefits to young people in disadvantaged and diverse communities. Building on the success of Street, you will have the opportunity to accelerate at pace the inclusion and diversity agenda within Chance to Shine. To do this, you will need to review our current activities and offer recommendations and solutions to help us to develop a real understanding of the benefits that being a genuinely diverse organisation brings.

This role will influence strategic planning, lead on the creation and implementation of a new Inclusion and Diversity strategy, and develop and deliver programmes and training to increase and promote this agenda both internally and externally. Cross departmental working will be paramount in this role, as Chance to Shine has a small central team, so working with fundraising to help generate new income, Impact and Evaluation to build better insight and Communications to raise awareness will be key.

Reporting to the Operations Director, this role will work closely with all departments of our organisation to achieve its objectives. The ability to work independently whilst also being a strong team player is essential. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a sound level of knowledge and experience of working in the area of inclusion and diversity, and have national programme experience. You will require excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with different stakeholder groups, and communicate clearly and simply.
