CLASP supports about 22% of Adults with Learning Disabilities in Wokingham Borough. To boost mental health during lockdown, the charity used exciting innovations to help members keep active and in touch. These included: dancing to upbeat music over Zoom (standing up or sitting in a chair); a flexercise session; wellbeing talks; and, SingHealthy choir. Over 60 guest speakers broadened horizons.
Awareness raising, via social media and local press, also attracted 17% more members, with 1,350 joining sessions and over 10,000 daily reaches on Facebook.
The charity engaged in 16 projects which aim to make Wokingham a more positive environment for any vulnerable person and their support network.
