Linda Morton
Berkshire Vision
Living with sight loss is challenging, let alone during lockdown. Lin helped Berkshire Vision run 62 physical activity sessions (remote or face-to-face) with 108 members taking part multiple times. Lin rang to encourage members to join activities from chair yoga to meditation.
She ran fortnightly dragon boat sessions where teams practiced paddling from the comfort of home and enjoyed a good chat to keep up morale. Lin located covid-compliant outdoor tennis courts and a golf course with suitable facilities. She helped run tennis and footgolf for members aged 11 and up.
Lin supported the oldest attendee, aged 91, to walk around the track at Palmer Park stadium. Lin's enthusiasm for having fun whilst being active was infectious.
"Golf is now my passion. Lin has changed my life for the better, with her upbeat and positive nature."
"Lin helped me feel more confident at a sport I'm not very confident with.
"I really took to Lin straight away. I loved her energy and sense of fun. She made us feel very welcome and that it was ok to not be able to hit the ball."
