Opening School Facilities (OSF) is a Department for Education (DfE) school funding programme to meet the goals of the Government's School Sport and Activity Action Plan (SSAAP). The aim of the programme is to help schools open their existing sport facilities, including school swimming pools, for a broader range of young people and to support the wider community by partnering with sporting organisations, who can help deliver activities in these settings.
Resources will either be focused in areas where pupils and communities face multiple barriers to accessing physical activity or awarded to schools and partners who can access these individuals and groups.
Opening school facilities to school and community users aims to create sustainable change in physical activity levels
