SCHOOL RESPONSIBILITIES
This is a school event and it is expected that all teams travelling will be attending as a school team. As with all school trips you are required to complete your regular off-site forms for your school. We expect all teams to abide by their school policy on use of adult helpers to support the teams travelling to the event and providing support on the day as well as first aid. We would expect schools to attend with a minimum of 2 adults in case an individual in their care requires hospital treatment.
Please ensure that all your team members have the following parent/carer consent in place prior to the day:
·Attendance & involvement in this event including the cultural village activities,
·travel arrangements
·Photographic/Video permission to include use of photographs in Berkshire School Games promotion for this and future media use
·You are asked to evidence photographic consent on the Registration Form
TRANSPORT TO THE EVENT
Please be mindful that there can be heavy traffic flow in this area at peak times of the day and the potential of road works and incidents- please check the local traffic news for the day.

When you arrive on site please register at the Event Registration desk at the front of the Leisure Centre so that we are aware that you are on site.

YOUNG LEADERS & OFFICIALS
We pride ourselves on using young sports officials (white T-shirts) to deliver our events on the day. Over 80 young officials will have been trained and gained some experience in delivering a competition before the day and we ask you to support their authority during the event. If you have any concerns about the officiating of the event, please approach the lead on the day. Any individuals mistreating the young officials verbally or physically will be removed from the site.
SPECTATORS

Spectators are welcome to attend. All spectators should sign in using the QR code (or link) below. They should not register more than one day before the event.
Some indoor spaces - sportshall; theatre, have limited provision for spectators. Spectators will need to ensure that they do not impinge on the activity taking place. If spectators become an Health and Safety concern they may be asked to leave.

The event will start with a high octane Welcoming Ceremony* that will start at 9.15am.
We are excited to announce that 2023 BGT finalist Felix Clements will be showcasing the new Olympic Sport of Break Dance
Please DO NOT arrive on site prior to 8.30am.
*may not be appropriate for pupils with some SEND needs due to noise and number of people in the space.
Please DO NOT arrive at your event more too early and we will have limited capacity to hold teams whilst events are happening, why not try out the Active 60 Minute Zone between 10.0am and 2.30pm

What to bring with you
School
Practice Equipment/Bibs if required; First aid; Optional groundsheet for wet weather conditions if outdoors
Optional tent/gazebo for wet/cold weather conditions if outdoors; Additional Water Supplies
Pupils/Team Managers
·Sports Kit including sweatshirt and jogging bottoms/leggings including warm clothes if outside
·Packed lunch, drinks and snacks; Water Bottle (this can be refilled on site)
·Suntan lotion & Waterproofs; Cap/hat
·Change of Shoes- you will not be allowed indoors with muddy footwear.
SHOES
Please ensure the following:
Rugby-
Players MUST wear moulded studded boots for Touch Rugby
Please be advised that all personnel entering the playing area (Anywhere beyond the metal barrier) must be in studded boots.
- This includes all coaching and medical staff.
- There are no exceptions
Astro & Sportshall- CLEAN TRAINERS
Athletics- No spikes
Please note that refreshments are available on site to purchase both in the café and from vending machines.

Our Events are Green Events
Please consider the environment, we want to make our festivals as environmentally friendly as possible.
- Please don't print off unnecessary paperwork, everything is available online and we provide QR codes on the day to help you access them
- Please put your litter in the bin
- Bring water bottles to re-fill
- We request that schools ask their pupils to minimise plastic packaging in their packed lunches
